Who we are
Something to aim for beyond the score: measurable goals you can work through at your own pace.
A pinshoot gives archers a relaxed setting to measure improvement, strengthen confidence, and get comfortable with competition.

The Pin Achievement Program is open to archers in our Adult Program and JOAD Training Programs. Star Pins are awarded for scoring achievements, and archers can earn them indoors and/or outdoors with barebow, Olympic recurve or compound bows. Each Star Pin is a different color with a increasing number of stars to reflect the greater difficulty of each award level. Each pin can be earned in a variety of ways, such as, achieving the score at official club pin shoots or at USA Archery sanctioned events.
Archers can display their Star Pins on achievement lanyards designed for their archery specialty, and each lanyard holds all Star Pins.
Participating in Pinshoots is an excellent way for archers to compete against themselves while tracking progress, helping coaches better support development, and gaining experience in a competition setting before entering a formal event.
As a member of our program, archers may participate in achievement pin shoots at no extra cost. Pins and lanyards are also provided to members with no additional charge.
6-Star Gold Pin: JOAD archers can earn the official “6-Gold” pin when they shoot six 10’s in a row – either in a single 6 arrow end, or in two consecutive 3-arrow ends.
Indoor 300 Pin: Perfect score in an indoor round at 18m.
Olympian Award Level Pins:Archers may also earn Olympian Award levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. An archer reaching these levels is honored with special recognition from the USA Archery Office.
